Announcing: Stair Dismount Touch!

Hi everyone,

Well it's not really an announcement, considering we've announced this some time ago. But here is an official thread for the next iteration of the grand Dismount franchise.

As mentioned in the SD2 thread, Stair Dismount Touch is an iPhone & iPod touch edition of Stair Dismount. The game engine is an adaptation of the technology we prepared for SD2, and as such has a much improved ragdoll simulation, UI and graphics compared to the freeware originals.

Now it's a couple days of recover from the crunch, then getting the word out as much as we can, then wait and see if people are willing to buy the game.

There are some improvements that we're planning to add to the iPhone version depending on how its sales turn out. The planned updates aren't little things, and will still take some time to implement.

But the technology base that we have makes it quite feasible to make a PC version. Still, the reality is that we need to see how it goes, and that will probably take at least the holiday season to have any idea of where we are.

The new Zen Bound is going forward as we speak, and it's starting to look really nice

So, yeah, we're ready with the initial release of the all new, hot and cool Stair Dismount for iPhone and iPod touch. Hot and cool at the same time, how awesome is that?

It's just up to Apple now to review and approve so that it becomes available for purchase.

I even DREAMED I had an iPod Touch and I bought the game. Bah, I'll eventually probably get one.

I was really excited to see the update to Stair Dismount Touch today to v1.2.0, with online leaderboards and (GASP!) more stairways, but I'm having a problem downloading it...

I can find it in the app store either by searching normally or checking for updates, but installing it from either page does the same thing -- it appears to download normally, the slightly altered version of the icon (Open Feint logo, I guess?) appears during the "Loading/Installing" progress bar process, and then when it's done it reverts to the old icon. Start the program, check the About page or the menu of stairways, and it's clearly still running version 1.1.0.

I updated a bunch of other apps today, they all worked normally.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Is Apple's server feeding the old version by mistake?

...

A tangential question: will I lose my old high scores when the update starts working again? Will I be able to upload them to the leaderboards, or is that for new scores only?

We're having the same problems. The App Store has been having these kind of problems lately, with updates either not coming through properly or the notifications not going away despite the app being up-to-date.

For the online high scores, the leaderboards only accept new scores achieved with the 1.2.0 version of the game.
