Is there any reason why HTML and [IMG] code are not allowed in signatures on this forum?

HTML would be dangerous (unless properly parsed, which would be a pain) since we'd be able to embed scripts, which, combined with the outdated version of vBulletin, could make you get everyone's passwords in MD5.
No idea about images though.
